J. Alfred Johnson II is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Servant leader of the Adult Ministries Department, he comes having previously served as Mid-America Union Conference Executive Secretary, Central States Conference President, Allegheny East Conference Personal, Prison, Community and Inner City Service Ministries Director, and Pastor of congregations with memberships ranging from thirteen to thirteen-hundred. An exclusive product of Seventh-day Adventist Christian Education, he is celebrating thirty-two years in Seventh-day Adventist ministry/employment in 2005.

Author of the book Simple Keys To Effective Christian Service, and numerous magazine articles, this Certified Shared Vision For Mission Facilitator and Certified Pre-Marriage Educator, describes his mission in ministry as “Sharing with colleagues in the continued facilitation of the corporate movement of our people ‘From Membership To Discipleship’”.

He is married to Paula I. (Freeman) Johnson, with whom he shares the privilege of having parented four adult children, two of whom are Seventh-day Adventist pastors, one daughter, a Communication Technology Graduate student, and one son, a third year Theology major.
